About me
Hi! I'm an Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Biological Sciences at Moravian University, a small liberal arts institution in Bethlehem, PA. I teach a wide range of courses from entry-level biology courses, to upper level electives (ex. Microbiology, Immunology), to writing-intensive courses (ex. The Human Microbiome, Host-pathogen Interactions), to non-majors courses in our general education curriculum (ex. Vaccine History). I also conduct bench-level research on host-pathogen interactions in intracellular bacterial infections. My passion is teaching and I'm currently riding the "alternative grading" train--and enjoying the ride (and learning a LOT)! I bring a multidisciplinary lens to all of my biology courses so that students can see the relevance of what they learn, immediately. If you have any similar interests, I'd love to connect!
