About me
I've been a biology education researcher for over a decade now, starting when I was a postdoc teaching Intro Bio at Ohio State University. I was an Associate Professor at North Carolina A&T State University for 9 years and am now an Instructor of Biology at the Wilkes Honors College of Florida Atlantic University. I study how service learning and undergraduate research experiences can create more inclusive atmospheres for minoritized students and their perceptions of and interest in science careers. I also write case studies and design interventions to help students use their science skills to solve real world problems. Talk to me about my favorite free-time activities - snorkeling, kayaking & paddleboarding, triathlons, craft beer, book clubs, and travelling with DINK friends.
