About me
I am an associate professor at Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa who has been in higher education for 23 years. I primarily teach Microbiology, Cell Biology, and Immunology. I am on the organizing committee for the American Society of Microbiology Conference for Undergraduate Educators and the ImmunoReach and BREWMOR steering committees. I am keenly interested in improving pedagogy and working to improve diversity, equity, and inclusion in the sciences. I have worked with the Partnership for Undergraduate Life Science Education on improving belonging in a first-semester biology course, and I am a 2023 Deep Teaching Residency participant.
