About me
Dr. Andrea Rediske is currently the Interim Dean of the Science Department at Valencia College's East Campus. She has been a full-time professor at Valencia since 2017, achieving tenure in 2022. She initially began teaching part-time in 2001, covering Biology, Microbiology, and Anatomy and Physiology. After completing her Ph.D. in Science Education from UCF in 2017, she returned to Valencia College, where she served as Biology Coordinator for East Campus, working with part-time faculty to implement best practices in science education. Dr. Rediske has contributed to committees focused on learning outcomes assessment, best practices in online courses, and campus leadership. Her research interests include evaluating educational interventions in science, with a particular focus on Microbiology. Nationally, she collaborates on science education research initiatives, including the Microbiology for Health Sciences Concept Inventory (MHSCI) and mentoring for Course-Based Undergraduate Research Experiences (CURES).
