2024 ASM Conference for Undergraduate Educators

I'm Teaching Professor of Microbiology and Immunology at the University of California, Merced.  I was born and raised in Puerto Rico and I've been happily married for 15 years.  I'm a dog dad to 2 Xoloitzcuintli dogs and a sassy cat.  I'm passionate about diversifying the professoriate, making our profession and classrooms more inclusive and equitable.  I'm fluent in Spanish, French and English.  I'm open to all types of conversations, including BER, active learning, the Summer Institutes on Scientific Teaching, social justice, Star Wars and SCUBA.
